Program Structure
The afternoon is organized into two structured blocks to ensure balanced development:

Creative Arts & Design
Visual Arts
Students explore drawing, painting, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, and other techniques through hands-on projects while developing artistic skills, creativity, self-expression, and personal style.
Digital Illustration
Students explore digital illustration, character design, and visual storytelling, developing ideas from initial sketches into finished digital illustrations and original artwork.
Traditional Crafts
Students explore weaving, macramé, crochet, and other traditional crafts while developing creativity, practical skills, and experience working with different materials and techniques.
Photography
Students learn fundamental photography skills, including composition, lighting, perspective, and backgrounds. Using tablets, smartphones, or digital cameras, they develop creativity and visual storytelling skills through hands-on photography projects.
Graphic Design
Students explore the fundamentals of graphic design, including color, typography, layout, branding, and digital citizenship. Through hands-on projects, they create original designs such as logos, posters, product labels, and digital graphics.
Stop Motion Animation
Students learn the fundamentals of animation and storytelling by creating original stop-motion films using clay, LEGO, paper, and everyday objects. They develop skills in storyboarding, set design, camera control, timing, filming, and editing to produce a finished animated short.
STEM & Engineering
Engineering & Technology
Students apply the Engineering Design Process to real-world challenges by researching, designing, building, testing, analyzing, and improving solutions. The ITEEA Engineering by Design™ curriculum develops engineering thinking, technological literacy, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
NASA/Aerospace
A hands-on aerospace course where students explore NASA missions, space science, flight, and engineering through exciting design challenges, experiments, and projects.
Solar and Wind Energy
A hands-on course where students explore solar and wind energy by designing, building, testing, and improving their own renewable energy projects. Students will apply engineering and problem-solving skills while preparing to compete in the KidWind Challenge.
Touch Typing
Students explore the useful skill of training their muscle memory to find the keys on a standard keyboard without looking to dramatically accelerate their typing speed and accuracy.
Languages & Culture
Turkish Language & Culture
An interactive beginner Turkish course developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing through real-life situations, games, stories, role-play, and cultural activities. Students also explore Turkish culture and positive character values.
French Language & Culture
An interactive beginner French course introducing essential vocabulary, pronunciation, greetings, everyday conversations, reading, and writing through games, role-play, stories, and cultural activities while exploring French and Francophone cultures.
Spanish Language & Culture
An interactive beginner Spanish course introducing essential vocabulary, pronunciation, greetings, everyday conversations, reading, and writing through games, role-play, stories, and cultural activities, while exploring the diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
