Eligibility and College Readiness
Falcon Academy students interested in participating in the Early College & Dual Enrollment Program must demonstrate the academic readiness necessary to succeed in college-level coursework.
Students enroll independently in NOVA courses while maintaining their enrollment at Falcon Academy.
Admission to NOVA, eligibility for specific courses, placement requirements, and registration procedures are determined by NOVA’s applicable policies.
Falcon Academy’s school counseling team assists students in understanding the academic expectations of the program and identifying college courses that may align with their high school graduation requirements and future educational goals.
General Eligibility Requirements
Students interested in independent dual enrollment through NOVA should meet the following expectations:

Maintain Active Enrollment at Falcon Academy
Students must remain enrolled at Falcon Academy and continue working toward completion of their high school graduation requirements.

Meet NOVA Admission and Enrollment Requirements
Students must satisfy NOVA’s applicable admission, enrollment, and eligibility requirements for high school students seeking to take college-level courses.

Demonstrate College-Level Academic Readiness
Students must demonstrate the academic preparation required for their selected college courses.
Depending on the course and NOVA’s current policies, academic readiness may be evaluated through high school academic records, standardized test scores, approved placement measures, or completion of prerequisite coursework.

Obtain Academic Advising and Course Approval
Students should consult with Falcon Academy’s school counseling team before registering for NOVA courses.
The counseling team will review the student’s academic plan and determine whether the proposed college coursework may be applied toward Falcon Academy’s high school graduation requirements.

Meet Course-Specific Prerequisites
Certain NOVA courses require students to complete prerequisite coursework or demonstrate proficiency in specific academic subjects.
Students must satisfy all applicable course prerequisites and enrollment requirements established by NOVA.

Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
Students participating in the program are expected to maintain satisfactory academic performance in both their Falcon Academy and NOVA courses.
Students are responsible for meeting college assignment deadlines, attending required instructional activities, and complying with NOVA’s academic policies.
