Model United Nations Conferences

This after school club is open to all middle school students and will meet every Thursday from 3:00 – 4:00 pm inshaa Allah.
It is free, until we begin competing in Model United Nations conferences at other schools. Each conference (maybe three this year) will cost between $20-$30.
If your 6th or 7th Grader is interested, or if you want your middle schooler to get better in conducting research, public speaking and debating, and negotiating, then this club is right for your student! Moreover, these skills fit nicely with the skills they are working on in Social Studies class.
In the Model United Nations, students act as international diplomats in attempts to solve the world’s problems. To do this, they have to conduct research into their assigned topics from an assigned country’s perspective and then debate with other students from other schools.
Our initial meeting will be next Thursday (December 4th) in the middle school common area.
