Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Building a Joyful Foundation for Lifelong Inquiry
The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) supports learners aged 3 to 12 through a holistic, inquiry-driven educational experience. It cultivates curiosity, compassion, independence, and foundational thinking skills.
At Falcon Academy, the PYP underpins our mission to inspire confident learners who think critically, act ethically, and approach the world with curiosity and care.
Falcon Academy is a candidate school for the PYP and is pursuing authorization as an IB World School.
🌟 Core Elements of PYP Learning at Falcon Academy
1. Transdisciplinary Inquiry
The PYP explores knowledge through six transdisciplinary themes, creating meaningful links across subject areas:
- Who We Are
- Where We Are in Place and Time
- How We Express Ourselves
- How the World Works
- How We Organize Ourselves
- Sharing the Planet
Students learn to ask questions, investigate deeply, and apply understanding in real-world contexts.
2. IB Learner Profile Development
The PYP encourages students to embody the ten IB Learner Profile attributes, including being principled, knowledgeable, open-minded, caring, and reflective.
These attributes complement our Islamic values, instilling integrity, compassion, and respect for self and others.
3. Student Agency
Students participate actively in their learning journey, exercising choice, voice, and responsibility. They engage in personal goal-setting, inquiry exploration, and meaningful reflection.
Preparing Future-Ready Young Scholars
The PYP nurtures curiosity, confidence, and foundational skills that support success in the MYP and beyond. Students develop not only academic readiness but also character, resilience, and ethical awareness.
